Kaleidoscope Of Life

A couple of months back, I was looking for some quotes(my fave thing to do) and so I came across this lovely lovely pieces of artwork, which has some simple and meaningful wordings. i'd like to share some of these beautiful pieces here.
Just something about the person behind these original pieces...Her name is Valentina and she's a graphic designer in the US(sigh!)
According to her, she loves to work with different materials especially black ink and what I love about some of her work, it is the little intricate details that she creates.

I have been observing this thing and experiencing it many times...and as much as it amuses me, it also irks me at the same time...
now what am i talking about? hmmmm...it's .... but before that let me just tell you my experience first..

i went to check out the new mall in KL with my sis yest, FERENHEIT...
my sis was raving about how much i'd like the place thought many of the shops are not fully operating as yet...
why would i love it? coz there're just tonnes of shops for shoes, accessories and bags! who wouldn't be!
so my sis n i wasn't really planning to get anything, well that's what we always tell ourselves, but will definitely come back home buying something!
ok, so back to this so called window shopping trip, so i went in one shop after another, and since it's a new place and not many people were thr yet (in the morning) so the sales person were friendly indeed following us, offering assistance and promoting their stuff....
and this is where the fun yet irritating thing happen....when the sales person was talking to my sis, most of them were talking in english, well yeah it's common of course, but then when it was to me, code-switch! it was then in MALAY! i mean why is it so? just because i'm wearing hijab and so i can't speak english? and my sis wasnt and so she must know english? and the funny thing was my sis and i was conversing in english all the time. hmmmm....i am definitely not against speaking in malay, i don't mind at all...but i wonder wht kind of stereotyping is that?

owh, but at times i will amuse myself by letting them try their best to explain in malay and fake ignorance in understanding even a simple english word....so take that! hahaahaha...

owh owh owh i just need to add this....once i went to sub zero store and my friend wanted to get a denim jacket. i went in and ask on bbehalf of her, "do you have denim jacket?" the guy looked at me long and hard, and asked in his so very rollinggggg rrrr english fake accent "sorrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyy what jacket?" to which i replied, 'denim jaket' and this went on like 3 times, while he went and ask another person who also had no idea what a denim jacket is. so he came back saying "sorrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyy no miss". ok so fine, as i wanted to go out of the shop i saw a few denim jackets....in blue and also black. so i told him, "tu ada kat sana..." and you know what he replied? oh, jeans jacket? i was likeeeeeeeeeeeee.................duh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and he looked at me as if i was wrong in calling tht a denim jacket! what in the worlddddddddddddd!!!!!!

ok back to the earlier incident, i believe we keep forgetting the saying "don't judge a book by its cover".
till then, i will try to keep being amused rather than irked everytime this happens to me...

I'm sitting here now with my niece and nephew while some other of my family members are eating that spiky so called king of fruits...yucks! my reaction ...of the taste and the smell! i simply loathe it...
yes yes yes, it's DURIAN!!!!
ok so i used to loveeeeee this fruit...once upon a time, but after a terrible incident, which i fell sick terribly because of the smell, there was not a chance I am ever gonna eat this THING again...never!

HELP ME!!! i am suffocating of the smell...it fills the whole house...i think i have to stay couped in this room of mine till sahur tomorrow....hopefully the air will not be polluted anymore! (praying hard)

Magic! That's one thing I love...I wouldn't mind having a genie myself... =)

WHat else than indulging on birthdays? So...definitely...desserts is a must...i'm thinking now of Mocha mud pie and rich dark moist chocolate cake and Jamoca Almond fudge ice-cream with chocolate syrup and almond toppings. Heavenly!

Having all these would just make my day...simply the food I'd want to start my day with every day.

Life is all about choices...
when it comes to making a decision from a few given options, we have to think wisely.
Be it even in choosing which cupcake to eat;-)

yeah...so Wana brought 3 cupcakes this morning, one for me, one for iza and another for herself....how thoughtful and sweet of her to do so...
So she put the cupcakes in front of me and said, 'K, take one for yourself.'
and she went out about doing her work...
so here was in front of me 3 lovely piece of art....i was thinking to myself...
'these are so nice, how am i to even eat them?'
but it's still food, and it's not just something to be stared at...and she brought it for me to taste...so that was just what i would do...
then again i kept looking at those 3 lovelies and wondered...which one should i take?
well...had to make a choice...
a very difficult one fer me...so i decided to take a pic first...and took one out...

but after looking at this, i didn't really want it, it's not me...hehehe, yeah i know, it's just a cupcake! why does it need to reflect me? well...ok, no any logical reason for that, but i just need to feel satisfied with my choice;-)

so i put it carefully back into the tupperware and by this time Wana came back to her table and was asking me what was i doing staring at the cupcakes for a long time ! hehehe, told her i was still deciding which to eat and she laughed her head off!

now this is more me...why?
i took this coz of the word...DAY and it has that multi-coloured lovely lil hearts
i want today to be a gud DAY
i want today to be a Day filled with colours...ok, in  my culture, punjabi, we hv this saying, if u have a colourful day it's a gud day filled with all the wonderful things, so i want that toDAY.
and that's the reason why i chose this particular cupcake.
and i believe i've made the right choice coz i felt good!:-)

So yeah...guilty as charged! I was totally lazy in updating my blog! can't blame the other bloggers as well...
(anyway, ppl, don't follow this example of urs!;-)
So 2010 is here, many reactions from pepople around me...

• it's just any other year, so what?
• oh no! another year...I'm getting older! (well sounds like me too;-) )
• new year new resolutions!
• new year...what resolutions? can't even complete the ones i promised myself all those years...(ok ok i'm also guilty on this account)
• well, i've celebrated my new year last week...(awal Muharram)
• gosh! so many text messages to reply!
• where to celebrate?
• what year is 2010 ? tiger? how will i fare? lilian too, i need your help!

ok so that were some reactions i've gottten, and some of those came from me as well...
many times when the new year comes. it's really the time for doing something new, or improving on sthing....but why do we need to wait for the new year?
why can't we begin now?
or for me, tomorrow;-) maybe next week...hehehehe ...ok this always applies when i want to start to try lose weight...hmmmm
trying still;-)

well, i guess as we tend to need some motivation to improve and start sthing, the change of year gives the best platform for us to do all these.
so whatever your reason is, motivation or just to follow the crowd in having resolutions this year, i hope this would be a great year for all of you!
