So the PDT exams start today...butterflies?...indeed I'm sure all of them have that...
It was English paper this morning.

I hope they had enough time to complete all...
I hope they answered all calmly...
I hope they remembered the reading skills taught...
I hope they didn't repeat the mistakes they did in class...
I hope they remembered all the writing tips...
I hope they remembered the Thesis Statement and Topic Sentence
I hope they tried their best...
I hope they get good marks.

And I hope they do well in all other subjects as well.
Above all, I hope they look forward to improve themselves further in Semester 2.

Drama Craze...

Yep..peps...so it was a trying time for me this time around...

I've always been looking forward to PDT drama project ... and like every year, I hoped to see the creative side of my students, be entertained and perhaps some would blow me away with their performances!
Some did live up to my expectation...but some other, oh so dissapointing! Very good scripts, poor executions :-(

Attitude, attitude, attitude! That's the main key people....you have to change your attitude...be more responsible of your life and in your life...
And start realising that English is very important in your life...in your future...when given opportunity to use it in college, do so! seize the opportunity...make it a habit...try try and try...and you will improve!

We English teachers may shout our lungs out asking you to read English materials, speak English and use it every single day, but if it falls on deaf ear, and no initiative is done on your side, then you are at the losing end...and believe me, one day you will say..."If I have taken English more seriously, I would have been better now." *Sigh*

I have to applaud those students who really put in a lot of effort in their drama, as I said there were some groups who showed that they took this project seriously...so Kudos you guys! I enjoyed your performances tremendously!
So, these are some pictures of my students still in their costumes and all..(boy! do they love to take pictures!) Some groups have not given me their group pictures so will post them once it reaches my hand...wonder when! :-)

MJ in action still...

So...Michael Jackson has left the world, but I'm sure everywhere you go now, you hear his songs or his music video played at various outlets. He is still very much 'alive' in the world despite his demise.

Raya was in Kl this year...Bob(my brother) had his second child...so everyone was dying to see the new addtion to the family...So back to MJ, there I was at my sis house, all family there, and instead of hearing to Raya songs, most of the time I was hearing to my niece and nephew singing to MJ songs! hehehe....My nephew who is 10 and whom before this had never knew any of MJ songs(or know how big MJ was before) has gone ga-ga over the King of Pop songs right after MJ was pronounced dead.

He made my sis buy his MJ music video cds and I even witnessed him throwing tantrums when my sis was reluctant to get him his new idol's cd!. He even coerced my brother to teach him the Moonwalk whenever my brother came to his house, and did his research on YouTube on how to moonwalk! And his favourite music video...Thriller! Hmmm....who doesn't like Thriller anyway! ;-)

What amazed me most was the fact that in the few days we were in KL celebrating Eid, he managed to influence his twin cousin(well, they are always mistaken for twinS!) to listen and sing along to all his favourite MJ tracks! oh not to mention, my 2year plus nephew(bob's son) even know the MJ signature step...(you know the crotch grabbing dance step)! Well all this thanks to his cousin brother.

The MJ craze does not only stop among my family members but it's extended to other very young generation as well... Last month during one of the buka puasa with my sis and her family, while we were sitting feasting our eyes at the wonderful dishes before us, Black or White was heard...and a few of 13 year olds were humming to the tune.

I quote Ida "It's true what is said about the King of Pop...He was famous during his lifetime but even more after he left this world!"

The line of Shakespeare in Macbeth "...a poor player, that struts and frets his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more..." definitely does not apply to the most influential icon in the music industry, Michael Jackson!
